Reflection of august month
A review of August.
We had learned about the core concepts of ICT (information and communication technology) up until the end of the month of August:
ICT stands for "Information and Communication Technology." It refers to the use of technology to manage and process information, as well as facilitate communication. It includes devices like computers, smartphones, and the internet.
ICT is essential in 21st century classrooms because it enhances teaching and learning experiences. It provides access to a vast amount of information, promotes collaboration, and develops critical thinking and digital literacy skills. Plus, it makes learning fun and engaging. It makes it possible for students and teachers to collaborate and enjoy personalised learning experiences. ICT in education improves engagement and knowledge retention, When ICT is integrated into lessons, students become more engaged in their work. This is because technology provides different opportunities to make it more fun and enjoyable in terms of teaching the same things in different ways.
Student Centered Learning:
Student centered learning centres the educational process around the needs of the student. It prioritizes critical thinking, selfdirected learning, and active engagement while modifying teachings. Technology provides educators essential tools to create a student-centered learning environment. The careful integration of technology into the classroom provides teachers and students with a limitless amount of educational resources that transform learning – inspiring creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking
Benefits of ICT in Teaching and Learning with a Change in Approach: ICT integration makes learning more interactive and interesting. Access to a multitude of online materials is provided, and it encourages student interaction and supports individualized education. Additionally, it encourages distance learning and paradigm flexibility in education.
Blended learning:
Blended learning is an educational strategy that combines conventional education with online learning. For example, someone could take an online course to learn the basics of a topic but then attend an in-person seminar to engage with experts and up their skills directly.
Blog:
Blogs were simply an online diary where people could keep a log about their daily lives on the web.To start a blog, pick a platform (like WordPress or Blogger), pick a domain name, personalise the design, write and publish content.
An examination of August.
As I think back on everything I have learned thus far, I have realised the following ideas: ICT is now a necessary tool for instructors and students in the modern educational environment. It enables teachers to use childcentered learning strategies and address the particular requirements and preferences of each student. It puts students at the center of their learning journey, empowering them to take control of their education and engage with the material in a meaningful relevant way.
There are several benefits to integrating ICT in teaching and learning, including dynamic, interactive experiences that can adapt to changing pedagogical approaches. It offers learners more complete and individual control over their learning. Moreover, many people recognize ICTs as catalysts for change, handling and exchanging information, teaching strategies, teaching methods, learning approaches, scientific research, and in accessing information
I came to leant that blended learning, which smoothly mixes traditional and digital approaches, offers an adaptable and successful strategy. It enables them to benefit from facetoface encounters with teachers while still having access to materials online, working with peers, and receiving tailored feedback. Blended learning accommodates diverse learning styles and schedules.
Learning the craft of blogging can be a useful skill for educators and learners alike. I learned that With the use of blogs, learning can become more accessible and collaborative by giving people a place to share their views, knowledge, and experiences.
Moreover I came to knew that using blogging in educational setting can serve as an assessment tool, enabling teachers to evaluate students writing and critical thinking skills.
By considering these ideas, i realise that ICT is more than just a tool, it is a transformative force influencing education's future, promoting childcentered learning, and enabling the flexible integration of new teaching and learning methodologies.
Furthermore, the practical application of what we had learned made the aforementioned concept easier for me to comprehend.
